Judging from the watch list pointer

has to be obvious, but also low-key and reserved insiders agree that the key to find fault in the details. Watch dial and gauge needles in the mix is a stress, if the dial is a night out, then the pointer will have both; If there is paint on the dial on the character, then the pointer is bound to peak and vice versa. So the Watch making, is the crystallization of thought, but also on the aesthetics and techniques with the pursuit of perfection.

Watch as the backboard face plate, or is it like a hand, because of their English meant, so the dials and pointer is watch in appearance, the most important part of people watch all day without them. Pointers are based on elastic, have won the axial pressure was in a pointer, normally wouldn’t fall off and shift, especially with the program code, the function of the watch was installed more pointer, so they are very laborious removed.

When the watch was violent vibration, pointer might fall off, especially the second is more likely. If found, or watch pointer shift that must be stopped immediately, the watch doesn’t stop seconds, the device will be put out to watch, and watch stopped gradually, must not again to dial the needle and wind! Of course, this time even if the situation, dial worse, to know the value of dial is high, some parts are not easy to find. Can put the watch glass, then put down in the clock hospital to make repairs.

If not the nearest safe clearance between clockwise and dial, clockwise will be touched the disk to dial, cause arc shape scratches, including clockwisea bove luminite ,luminite powder will also be rub off. In addition, the position is too low, rub the LOGO on the label to dial, minute position is too low or points in front axle skewed, Lead to the identity of the dial the minute hand hit the top front. This will result in scratches, but also take the time to watch to bring trouble.

Although high-grade blue steel gauge needles appear beautiful, but its high-grade in damp but easy to rust after, when the rust down “growth”, will be touched the dial, give dials cause arc shape scratches. The rust in the repair time, very well wipe the rust of the components should be called “ferric oxide” in ancient times, the ancients did in the cave and rock paintings above are using it for paint, can save a million years.

Luminite pointer to dial has not neglect. especially old watch, because the luminite materials are Po with Po, Promethium are radioactive elements for human health, not too good, And now watch luminite materials are in the majority, the Tritium majority is safe. so the pointer to the above luminite hurt. Dial With Po do luminite materials, may have to face up to the color of the silver ray, is mainly dials and other types of surface or color, the color will probably not place is the location and the corresponding pointer.

Belong to collect the watch, the best of every half year is going to dialed at needle wind.

Gauge needles are easier to overlook the details of the watch appearance, however,we are able to feel the details from this small delicate wrist ornaments, thoughtful design.

There are a number of different materials that are used to make watch glasses. They are generally made of one of three common materials depending on the make, uses and quality of each particular watch. Each material has it’s own advantages and disadvantages, so it is worth understanding the differences. Sometimes the glass is referred to as the crystal, this is not to be confused with the quartz crystal inside of a lot of watches which regulates the timekeeping.

Acrylic Glass
The cheapest glass is actually a plastic. Acrylic plastic is tough, flexible and transparent. It is not likely to shatter as it is very light. The downside is that it may scratch easily. The scratches can be removed, it is advisable to consult a jeweller about the best way to proceed. Childrens’ watches often have an acrylic glass as they are unlikely to be able to break it even if they are not as careful as they could be!

Mineral Glass
The most common form of glass is mineral glass. This is made by using heat or chemicals to treat ordinary glass in order to make it more scratch resistant. If the glass does become too scratched it will need to be replaced. Unfortunately this also has the affect of making the glass more likely to shatter. Occasionally when a watch glass shatters small shards of glass can lodge themselves into the workings. If this happens then the cost of repair is likely to exceed the value of the watch. Most watches, however, do not end their life in this way; so there is no need to be unduly worried. But it is worth being careful if your watch glass does shatter in order to prevent this from happening.

Sapphire Crystal
The most desirable watch glasses are made out of either synthetic or genuine sapphire. Commonly synthetic sapphire is used. This is made out of crystalised aluminum oxide, it has the same physical properties as the natural gem frequently used in jewellery but without the colouring. It is the most expensive way to create a watch glass but the advantage is that the glass is incredibly durable. Sapphire rates 9 on the Moh scale, (that is the scale that measures the relative hardness of all materials) and is just behind diamond which measures 10. Of all the glasses it is the least likely to shatter or be scratched. If anything you should be more concerned that your watch may scratch another surface! Sapphire crystal is one of the features that pushes up the price of high end watches. This is due to the value of sapphire and partly because expensive tools that use diamonds to cut and shape the sapphire have to be used to make them. Premier brands such as Seiko and Citizen watches often use sapphire glass for their watches.

But it was not until the last century that this became a realistic possibility for the majority of people. Timekeeping has been possible in a fairly accurate way since the 1400s but it was not until the 1800s, when watches began to be mass produced rather than made by hand by skilled watch makers, that this became accessible technology. The trend of wearing wristwatches began in the trenches in WW1 as they were a more practical accessory than a pocket watch. Since then the technology has developed in leaps and bounds.

Mechanical Watches

The first wristwatches were mechanical. They are powered by the energy stored in a spring which is used to move a number of weighted wheels, or gears as they are also known, that turned the hands. This technology came from spring-powered clocks that were around as early as the 1400’s; it began to be used for smaller watches in the 1600’s. These types of watches need to wound regularly; meaning that as well as being prone to losing time they rely on their user to remember to wind them. For these reasons mechanical watches are generally collectors items or created primarily for nostalgic purposes rather than for practicality.

Kinetic or Automatic Watches

The modern variation of the mechanical watch that has recently seen a revival is the kinetic watch also known as an automatic watch. These watches have a similar internal structure as the mechanical watches but rely on the movement of the wearer to power the spring. They are often less reliable than other forms of power for watches; there is a greater likelihood that they will lose time, in some cases a few seconds every day. They have made a comeback in certain designers ranges such as Police and Seiko. This is partly because they never need to have a battery change and also the mechanics allow for some additional stylistic features like transparent backs through which the mechanism can be viewed.

Quartz Watches

In 1969 the first quartz powered watch was available on the market. Quartz has special properties so when it is shaped in a certain way and subject to an electrical field it will bend. When the field is removed the quartz generates an electrical field of its own as it moves back to its original shape. This property is known as piezoelectricity. Due to this property quartz crystals can be used to regulate the movement of an electronic oscillator. This energy and movement powers, controls and regulates the hands of the watch. This revolutionary technology is now the most common form of power in wristwatches. It is also the most reliable timekeeping method which also comes at a low price.

Atomic Timekeeping

The most accurate time pieces on the planet are connected to atomic clocks. An atomic clock deviates by around a second every million years! Certain wristwatches such as the Casio WaveCeptor range utilise this technology. This is done through a network of radio transmitters which emit time signals. Radio controlled watches receive this signal and adjust themselves accordingly.

Types of Watch Batteries

There are three main types of battery that are used to power watches. The most common is the silver oxide battery. They are frequently used in watches because they have a high energy to weight ratio. This means that they should last for a long period of time. Due to the silver content they can be expensive to produce which is why they are not often used for products that take larger batteries.

Lithium batteries are long-life and also relatively expensive. They are used primarily in watches that have lights or other energy draining features.

Solar cells are now becoming a popular and effective way of powering wristwatches. High-tech battery cells are fuelled by the light that reaches them through the watch face. This means that the user will never have to change the battery. Citizen\’s Eco-Drive range has set the standard for the practical application of this technology. As an additional ecological bonus the batteries do not contain any of the harmful chemicals found in regular batteries.

Many people do not even know watch also is divided into quartz watch and mechanical watches! And the mechanical watch needs regular maintenance, its repair techniques also need strict requirements, that doesn’t like quartz watches almost only stereotyped replacement parts.

However, why do so many people still indulge in mechanical watches? Why spend the money a motorcycle or car to buy people do not appreciate watch, or even dismantling watch day and night and studying watches knowledge never tired of it? The reasons are really many that for everyone are not the same; we may try to explore several different angles.

Gains and losses in the world do not care, but things changed and it! This is a philosophy of life. If they do not take care themselves neither eat nor drink, of course, killed! Because of the food and water to sustain life is the starting point of life. Artificial watch can not be free from the earth’s survival law. If the man-made objects can be free from this law, then it really unimaginable and also not practical. Watch naturally follow that the law of nature—including maintenance. But because of automatic mechanical watch has this life similarity of living body with many people on the Machine watch resulted in an mutual cherishing emotions, or even as treating their children or lover-like feelings, It is very different in treatment of mass production quartz watch of damaged disposable feel.

Quartz watches do not need rely on manpower. It regular move on the dial, And so to say, automatic mechanical watches only the human watchmaking; traditions and culture heritage, each piece of quartz watch just industrialized mass production of icy objects.

Close dependent relationship between machine watch and wearer is very delicate. From a technical point of view, the two are entirely dependent on the relationship because no one wears, the operation of automatic mechanical watches can not turn. Whether or not the chain, or whether the self-winding, watch is a watch every move in the daily life gaining momentum. Completely rely on machines running the watch the human. Such as time-consuming to take care of your mechanical watch, you can imagine into the true feelings and a way of loving life, and many fans are keen on the machine watch feeling, keen to maintain.

Of course, there is any other relationship between the wearer and mechanical watch, you and wristwatch just as the same as you and your car! Which better hand-gear and automatic gear? Although the automatic transmission may be more practical, but I like manual control, because it brings me directly to the mechanical touch .For example, one of the characteristics of mechanical watch is voice; the chains by the sound card, each watch movements “clatter ” sound have different taste. Sophisticated watch movements, multi-functional complex watch movements, the clatter is more regular and quieter than the cheap watch, Especially your hands on the chain, you will feel close contact with the crown between thumb and index finger, it make you an ineffable Heartfelt.

Casio, who first began making yubiwa pipes, which was a finger ring that was designed to hold a cigarette, allowing the wearer to smoke whilst also leaving the their hands free, in 1946, have since gone onto become a leading brand in the world of watches.

Casio are probably most well known for their calculators, a product that they started producing back in 1949 and in 1957 released the first ever all electric compact calculator, which quickly established them as the leader in this market, something they still maintain today.

Move forward to the 1980’s and Casio ventured into the world of watches, quickly becoming one of the leading brands, in terms of design and reliability. It was one of the first producers of quartz crystal watches, both digital and analog, and also began selling calculator watches during this time. Their watches were one of the first that could display the time in many different time zones and also have smart functions like temperature, altitude, pressure and even GPS position displays, proving that Casio was becoming the leader in electronic watches.

In 1983, Casio launched the first ever G-Shock watch, the DW-5000C, which quickly became a leading seller and propelled Casio further into the watch market, where it has remained to this very day. In 1985 the launched one of the first ultra-thin digital watches, the FS-10 and was followed in 1988 by the STING watch, which was watch aimed primarily at the youth market, adding another arm to the watch arm of the company.

With technology improving rapidly in the space of a few years, Casio launched wristwatch type MP3 player, Wrist Audio Player (WMP-1V), which was one of the first kind of this watch to be made. It really was a leap into the future, allowing people to listen to their music through their watch and still be able to tell the time. It took watches from being sole purpose to multi purpose, a trend that seemed to come and go quite quickly.

June 2008 was another massive leap forward for Casio in the world of watches when they released the G-SHOCK RISEMAN, which was the world’s first 6 multi-band radio controlled watch

Out of all the watch manufactures, Casio has consistently and successfully pushed the level of technology in their watches further and further and are still one of the world’s leaders of digital watches, where they still hold a massive part of the market. With technology and the possibilities of technology improving all the time, the future really does seem exciting at Casio, with many wondering what their next big watch will be able to achieve.

Hattori. It began life as a clock repair company, after eleven years of trading it produced its first wall clock. A few years later the companies first pocket watch was produced. The Seiko pocket watch was appointed in 1929 as Japans National Railway official ‘railway watch’. It was chosen because of its accuracy despite having to deal with the discomforts of train rides.

Seiko watches have gone from strength to strength as their focus is on high quality and affordable time pieces. Today the company is still owned by the same family who strive to attain the same high values placed on the corporation by K. Hattori. In 1953 Seiko were the first company to advertise on Japanese television. The advert was for Seiko alarm clocks, featuring a chicken winding up an alarm clock! They advertised their alarm clocks under their previous name of Seiko-sha meaning ‘the house of precision’.

Seiko began by making all of their watches by hand. They utilised technology as it advanced towards mechanised manufacture of watches. Today Seiko use machines to manufacture many of their watches but they remain true to their roots and still have a high number of exceptionally skilled watchmakers that make some of the ranges by hand. In 1969 Seiko broke new ground in the watch industry, a move that is still setting the way for modern watch production. The Seiko Quartz Astron watch was the first quartz watch in the world. Quartz technology meant that watches could use a battery rather than being wound up and the time displayed was regulated by the electromagnetic properties of quartz. This revolutionary technology is the most common time keeping method in wrist watches today.

Seiko followed up the release of this technology by creating the worlds first six digit LCD quartz Seiko watch , and later by the introduction of the world’s first multi-function digital watch. The list of Seiko world firsts is impressive. They have created a large number of epoch making watches that have completely revolutionised the watch industry. These developments include introducing the worlds first TV watch, a first kinetic watch, (powered by the motion of the wearer), a first computerized divers watch, the first watch powered by thermo-electric (powered by the heat of the wearer) and many many more.

Seikos impressive heritage has given their watches a global following and prominent place at the forefront of the watch industry. Seiko watches offer the best of precision technology at an affordable price. They are known for their strong commitment to furthering research and design and due to this they will remain a key brand in the watch world for the foreseeable future.

Time is always essential, and in a modern life is more than ever. We cannot live without time and watches. But there are thousands and thousands of watch brands, models, and designs. Which one to chose? Where to buy? Those questions usually come up.

Japanese watches represent one of the biggest segments on a market.
Leader in lower price range is certainly Casio. Casio watches symbolize quality, and besides that acceptable prices and contemporary design. After creating the shockproof Casio G-Shock watches, company steadily improved its position among Japanese watchmakers.

Now Casio watches are available almost everywhere all over the globe. There is one special feature of Casio watches – they all made with quartz movement. Today Casio product line represents models with GPS navigator, compass, altimeter, barometer, and atomic time keeping. It is necessary to mention that Casio deals not only with watches. Large popularity belongs to Casio digital computer technology as well.

Citizen is the other bright representative of Japanese watches industry, and consist of a few collections. One of them is Citizen Promaster watches, which is well-known for its convenience and comfort for sport activities on the water, on the earth and in the air. Collection Citizen Titanium won true recognition because of anti-allergenic Titan, which is used as basic material for watch’s cases production.

Collection Citizen Eco-Drive is especially attractive as completely autonomous watches. Eco-Drive technology exclusively developed by Citizen successfully corresponds to requirements of efficiency, ecology and design. Mechanism of Eco-Drive watch converts solar or artificial light into clean energy. Fully charged most of Citizen Eco-Drive watches have a 180 day power reserve.

Seiko is Japanese watch brand who the first created quartz watches in the contemporary understanding, and that was Seiko Quartz Astron 35 SQ. One of the most astonishing technologies, developed by company Seiko is Seiko Kinetic watches. The main attribute of Seiko Kinetic consists in a fact that with the work of its mechanism kinetic energy is processed into electrical energy. Thus Seiko Kinetic is a quartz watch, which works without battery. Electric power for its work Seiko Kinetic obtains from the motion of the hand of its owner. The accuracy of Seiko Kinetic watch is higher than in Swiss analogs. Among the most popular models are Seiko Kinetic Black Dial, Seiko Kinetic Arctura, and Seiko Kinetic Sportura.

If you decide to buy Japanese watch, you can save yourself some time and money. Just search, compare, review, and buy the right watch for you or for a gift from thousands available variations from trusted companies. And it’s all in one place. Final choice is yours.

Looking after a watch properly can extend its life by many years. There are a number of easy ways that you can do this.

Treat your watch according to its water resistance rating. Every watch has a water resistance rating.

Do not expose your watch to rapid temperature change. It is best not to wear your watch in a sauna or in a cold plunge pool. This is because rapid temperature change causes materials to contract, if the seal (that makes the watch water resistant) changes size and/or shape it could mean that your watch is no longer water resistant.

If the air under the glass rapidly cools it may mean that the water in the air will condense. In most cases this goes away without any intervention, but water can get into the workings of the watch. The best course of action to take if this happens is to have the case opened and left to dry as soon as possible.

Do not knock your watch. Undue shocks can damage the internal workings or scratch the glass. It is generally inadvisable to wear a watch during sports, unless it is specifically designed for them. This is especially important if you have a watch which has moving parts. Mechanical/automatic watches and quartz watches contain moving parts. A digital watch has no moving parts so an impact should only damage the glass. A breakdown of the different qualities of watch glasses can be found here.

Avoid wearing perfume or moisturisers in the same place that you wear your watch. Watch bracelets, straps and the internal workings can be susceptible to corrosion from cosmetics.

Check straps and bracelets regularly. Ensure that they are not loose or too worn. If necessary get the clasp tightened or obtain a new strap, both of these tasks can be done by your local jeweller. Keep hold of any additional links that you have for the watch, these will come in handy if one breaks.

Keep your watch clean. If it has a water resistance rating of 50m you can clean your watch with luke warm water and a very small amount of soap. A tooth brush or similar object can be used to easily loosen dirt. Make sure that you remove all soap and dry it thoroughly afterwards. If the water has a rating of less than 50m the best thing to use is a soft cloth and a dry toothbrush to clean between the links.

Get your watch serviced. If you have an automatic, divers or a particularly expensive watch it is recommended to have it serviced every 2-3 years. Otherwise the cost of servicing is likely to outweigh the cost of replacement. If the watch is under guarantee ensure that the service centre used is one recognised by the manufacturer so that the warranty is not invalidated.

If you are buying a quality watch from a reputable dealer you will be able to tell what a watch is made from before you buy it. These details can normally be found on each different component; the watch strap or bracelet and the case back. If you are buying online this information should be found in the product description.

Gold Watches

Gold is only used for luxury watches. There are two main reasons for this; firstly that gold is an expensive material, secondly that it is an extremely soft metal. Gold watches are dress watches, normally purchased for special occasions and are not suitable for everyday wear. One advantage to having a gold watch is that gold has an intrinsic value. If the watch can no longer be worn the gold still has a value according to its weight and the price of gold on any given day.

Gold Plated Watches

If you fancy a gold watch but want something more usable than a solid gold watch you can opt for a watch with a leather strap and gold case or a gold plated watch. Gold plated watches have the same lustrous colour as gold but come at a fraction of the price. New technology in this field means that instead of layering the gold on top of a base metal it is now infused into it (by a process known as Physical Vapour Deposition or P.V.D.). This results in a more even spread of colour and longer lasting cover.

Silver Watches

Silver is also a luxury item that retains its value. It is not as expensive or as soft as gold but is still a malleable substance which is why it is used so frequently in jewellery. Silver watches are more durable than gold watches but are more prone to tarnishing. Although this can be rectified by regular cleaning and taking good care of your watch.

Titanium Watches

Titanium is a lightweight and exceptionally durable material. It has the highest strength to weight ratio of any metal. Anything that is worn on the wrist is likely to take a lot of damage over it’s life, so titanium is an ideal material to make a watch out of.. The downside is that it is an expensive material compared to stainless steel, so the cost is often considered prohibitive by watch makers.

Stainless Steel Watches

Stainless Steel is the most common of all metals used in the construction of watches. It is strong, resistant to most forms of corrosion and does not easily stain. This combined with its distinctive bright colouring make it an ideal metal to use in watch making. It is commonly used for watch cases whatever the strap type and is a relatively cheap option.

Rubber/Resin Watches

Watches with resin straps are normally designed for serious outdoor use. They are really tough and have the advantage of being both lightweight and water resistant, protecting the delicate workings of the watch. Often childrens watches will have a strap made from resin for much the same reasons!

Leather Strap Watches

Leather is used to make watch straps because it is inexpensive, compared to the other products. It also allows for customisation. Leather can be dyed any colour. Due to the predominant use of buckles as a fastening, leather straps can be made one length and easily adjusted to fit a number of different sized wrists. The downside is that they are nowhere near as long lasting as metal straps and they can get stained fairly easily. Leather straps have the advantage of being made from a soft natural fabric, so most people find that they are comfortable to wear. Imitation leather is also available, these straps tend to be cheaper and less durable. Some people may find that they are allergic to them.

Webbing Strap Watches

Webbing straps are generally the cheapest of the straps on the market. They are commonly made from nylon. They are fairly durable and normally water resistant. They are often used for watches that are designed specifically for outdoor pursuits or for childrens watches.
